THE PARTY MAGICIAN

Secret Stuff
Step inside. Ron’s Magic and Mystery School is now in session and your children can be the students learning some of the secrets of magic.
This is a beginner’s workshop; children will be introduced to the world of magic with a series of easy-to-do techniques and effects. Most everything is provided; that which isn’t is readily available at home.
Here is just on presentation scenario:
Participants are asked to bring the following: a home-made decorated magic wand, a few standard-size playing cards (2½x3½ inches) that can be “destroyed”, a Loonie and a Toonie.
All of these items will be used during the workshop.
The cost of the workshop consists of the instructor’s fee plus a nominal per-student charge for the course materials and handouts.
The students may also have the opportunity to purchase additional materials that are beyond the scope of the workshop but are suitable for further study and practice at home.
Running time: 2-4 hours (shorter programs are also possible, for example, as an add-on to a birthday party show).
Group size: Almost any size is possible. However, with larger groups, the client may be asked to provide volunteers to assist in working directly with the students to keep things moving.
Age range: School-age children able to read.

On Your Feet
This is a participation-based workshop that teaches four highly important life skills:

    Motivation and self direction

    Becoming a team player

    Presentation skills

Speaking in front of an audience
How can one workshop do all this?
Think about it this way: If you can learn to relax, just a little, while speaking in front of an audience, without worrying about what you have to say; if you can relax, just a little, and rely on those participating with you; if you can be just a little bit more agreeable and can contribute more towards the goal, doesn’t that make you a more valuable member of the team?
There is a way to learn all that. Improvisation: improv for short, will teach you just that. It all comes down to one thing; it’s the first rule of improv. It’s so important that I teach it in the first few minutes of the workshop.
The first rule of improv says, “Yes! And?” Simply stated, it means, “Accept and advance.” All improv exercises will fail if you don’t follow this one rule. And it is this one lesson that will make you a better team player, and a more active contributor to the group.
What about improved presentation skills? You simply cannot help but improve your presentation skills by participating in the exercises!
It’s fun for everyone. Regardless of age.
Running time: 2 hours (Anything from 1 to 8 hours is possible).
Group size: The workshop is best suited for groups between 16 and 50 participants.
Age range: School-age children and up. This program works equally well for adult and corporate groups!
